Madhumita’s background before being an actress is not yet known. She is not very popular actress on the mainstream films. But she acted with her actual name Swapna Madhuri in her first Telugu film Sandade Sandadi in 2002. Since them she has acted in many Tollywood (Telugu film industry) films. Her Telugu films Manmadhudu in 2002 with Nagarjuna and Puttintiki Raa Chelli with Arjun are notable. Her Telugu films seem to have stopped after entry into Tamil films since 2005.
