Here's to two heady four letter words that make the world go round... "Food" and "films". Here, in Los Angeles, in the dreamland of creativity and eternal sunshine, I find that Bollywood meets Hollywoodand food reigns supreme.
I love the exuberance of lyrics and poetry and more so that of the high-octane, provocatively witty genius, Padma Bhushan, Padma Shree Javed Akhtar. Here in Hollywood he leads an international "mushaira". And if it's Hollywood, it's got to be the "Pretty Woman hotel" (the movie was shot here) Beverly Wilshire where eight decades of Hollywood history distils itself. Here, elegant history tangos with youthful energy. The grace of stately centuries melds with high octane new age gusto. This is where both Hollywood and Bollywood (No! Javed saab does not approve of that term) stays and dines.
